More tourists in Tivat, Kolašin and Zabljak than in the record year of 2019
Tourist officials in the north are particularly satisfied with the tourist season, said Milena Vujović from the National Tourist Board of Montenegro. Zabljak and Kolasin recorded a higher number of tourists compared to the record year 2019. Tivat also recorded a higher number of tourists, and when it comes to the season in the whole country, she pointed out that a growth of 63 percent compared to the previous year and an achievement of 96 percent compared to 2019.
As Vujovic said, 143 thousand tourists stayed in Montenegro last Friday, July 22, which is slightly more than the previous year and 84 percent compared to the record year 2019.
"Since the beginning of the year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of guests. Thus, from the beginning of May to July 22, we recorded an average growth of 63 percent compared to the previous year and an achievement of 96 percent compared to 2019. This tells us that the pre-season was successful and that the season is good", said Vujovic in the show "Good Morning Montenegro" on TVCG.
When it comes to hotel accommodation, according to her, there is a huge increase in the number of tourists.
"So now 38 thousand tourists are resting in Montenegrin hotels, which is six percent more than in 2019," she pointed out.
Vujovic said that almost all municipalities recorded an increase in guests compared to the previous year.
"Some even record growth compared to 2019. These are the municipalities of Tivat, Zabljak and Kolasin", she said.
She pointed out that they are especially happy that the north is so visited.
So far, one million and 400 thousand euros have been generated, which is a growth of 35 percent compared to the previous year. He believes that this year there are fewer unregistered guests.
"According to data Central Bank of Montenegro), for now, the revenue has been about 45 million euros, which is an increase of 86 percent compared to the previous year and an achievement of 96 percent compared to 2019," she said.
