Milos Medenica detained in SPO

The son of the former President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesna Medenica, Milos Medenica, was arrested this morning at Podgorica Airport, it was confirmed to RTCG portal unofficially from the police. Shortly after 12 o'clock Medenica was taken to the premises of the Special Police Department (SPO).

As we find out, Medenica was arrested around 10:35 pm, after arriving at airport Golubovci from Belgrade.

The High Court issued an order on May 5 for a national arrest warrant for Milos Medenica, who is accused of forming a criminal organization for smuggling cigarettes, drugs, but also illegal influence when making decisions in court cases, the High Court announced.

The Libertas press portal published transcripts of the conversations that Europol submitted to the Montenegrin police, which allegedly confirm that Medenica was involved in cigarette smuggling and drug trafficking.

According to the portal, Milos Medenica was smuggling through police officer Darko Lalovic, who was arrested on December 15 last year in Podgorica and is still in custody.

The court in Podgorica extended the detention of his mother Vesna Medenica for another two months.

Medenica was arrested on April 17 due to a well-founded suspicion that she committed criminal acts of creating a criminal organization and illegal influence, and is currently in the Investigative Prison in Spuz.
