After the strongest, ten weaker earthquakes
After the earthquake of 5.5 on the Richter scale, which happened last night, more than ten weaker earthquakes were registered in the area of the Macedonian-Greek border.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Center (EMSC), an earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was felt in Bitola at 9.20 this morning, followed by another of 2.8.
According to local media, material damage was caused to houses, buildings and other facilities in Bitola, there are broken windows, cracked walls and ceilings.
The first in the series of earthquakes was the strongest - 5.5 degrees, and happened at 22.43 with the epicenter near Greek city Florina, not far from the border with North Macedonia, and the next, measuring 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale, occurred only eight minutes later.
The third earthquake, measuring3.1 degreeson the Richter scale,followed at 22.54, and then the fourth at 23.10, measuring 3 degrees.
During the night until this morning, six more earthquakes were registered in the area of Florina, with different epicenters. The first earthquakes were strongly felt in Skopje as well.
