SUBJECT - FUNDAMENTAL AGREEMENT

Meeting of Abazovic and Djukanovic today

The Prime Minister of Montenegro DritranAbazovic will meet today with the President of the country Milo Djukanovic, it was confirmed to the RTCG Portal.

The main topic of the meeting will be the decision of the Government of Montenegro to adopt the Fundamental Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), along with the political consequences that this brings. Abazovic announced the meeting at yesterday's Government session.

On July 8, Abazovic's Government adopted the Fundamental Agreement on regulating relations with the Serbian Orthodox Church, which led to the withdrawal of support from the SDP and DPS.

The adoption of the Basic Agreement was preceded by negative reactions and criticisms of the proposed text of these parties, and a part of non-governmental organizations, as well as the professional public.

Abazovic replied that "we will see what the majority of MPs stand for", hinting that the DPS will not succeed in securing a majority of 41 MPs for the impeachment of his Government.
