POLICE ACTION

28 people were prosecuted for smuggling 6.1 tons of cocaine

As part of the activities in the fight against serious and organized crime, the Police Administration of Montenegro, with the active support and coordination of EUROPOL and in cooperation with the law enforcement authorities of Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands, prosecuted 28 persons - members of an international criminal organization who are linked to the smuggling of 6.1 tons of cocaine on a transnational level.

As reported by the Police Administration, the criminal complaint includes L.C. (47) and S.A. (45), citizens of Italy, then D.V. (39), F.R. (35), D.G. (62), N.P. (55), N.G. (48), S.M. (42), R.V. (39), I.A. (31), J.V. (26), M.R. (34), B.V. (50), M.L. (58), J.E. (27), Ž.D. (48), M.Đ. (60), V.R. (52), T.B. (39), N.M. (31), V.L. (48), N.M. (43), A.M. (32), D.Ž. (69), D.M. (48) and Z.G. (43), citizens of Montenegro, as well as S.M. (45) and A.D. (46), citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

"The mentioned persons are suspected of the criminal acts of creating a criminal organization and unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. During the finalization of the activities, police-prosecutor measures and actions were carried out on the territory of seven countries, and searches were carried out at a total of 52 locations". the Police Directorate announced.

200 officers of the Police Administration participated in the implementation of the activity In Montenegro.

As the police announced, they searched a total of 33 locations in our country, and on that occasion they found and seized tens of thousands of euros, expensive watches, bank cards, documents, ammunition and weapons, a vehicle and a speedboat.

Eight persons were deprived of their freedom - R.V. (39) from Nikšić, D.G. (62) from Kotor, S.M. (42) from Podgorica, N.P. (55) from Kotor, B.V. (50) from Kotor, N.G. (48) from Danilovgrad, J.E. (27) from Kotor and M.R. (34) from Podgorica, while I.A. (31), F.R. (35), M.L. (58), J.V. (26) are currently unavailable to the competent authorities. D.V. (39) was previously detained in the Republic of Serbia on an international warrant for other criminal offences.

Ž.D., M.Đ., V.R., T.B., N.M. (31), V.L., N.M. (43), A.M., D.Ž., D.M. and Z.G. were deprived of their freedom in Aruba in 2020 and they were sentenced to long prison terms.
