IN SERVER’S OPINION

It’s not time for Djukanovic to resign

I do not think that it is time for Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic to resign, because there is no opposition in the country that is pro-NATO and pro-European oriented and ready to take over the power, says professor at the John Hopkins University in Washington, Daniel Server commenting demands of the organizers of the protest "Oppose 97000".

Server, however, explains that real possibility of rotation of parties in power is of vital democratic significance and the main feature of a serious democracy.

"Now there is no room for President Milo Djukanovic to withdraw because the opposition forces in Montenegro are not only questioning membership in the Alliance and joining the EU, but also Montenegrin independence. The changeability of government is necessary, and I would like to see it, better sooner rather than later. I told it to the president personally, too, " explains Server.

He emphasizes that every change of government must offer alternative.
