EU leaders on Thursday on vaccines for W. Balkans

Procurement of vaccines for the Western Balkans will be one of the topics of the meeting of the leaders of the European Union (EU) members, which will be held on Thursday, it was announced in Brussels.

European Council President Charles Michel said that EU leaders should discuss cooperation with third countries regarding vaccines, which, as he stated, should be treated as a global public good.

" We will look at how we can assist partners in the neighbourhood and beyond," Michel said, Tanjug reports.

In the invitation letter to the leaders of the EU member states, on the eve of the video conference scheduled for Thursday at 6 pm, Michel states that the vaccination campaign within the Union will also be discussed at the meeting.

"Accelerating vaccination across the EU is our absolute priority." Michel said.
