IN THE SECOND DUEL

A sharp but polite confrontation between Trump and Biden

The second, last debate of the candidates for the presidency of the USA, the Republican Donald Trump and the Democrat Joseph Biden, was marked by a sharp exchange of views, but the dialogue was much more civilized compared to the previous chaotic duel.

During last night's debate in Nashville, Tennessee, Trump (74), the current US president, and Biden (77), a former US vice president, interrupted each other incomparably less often than in the first duel, and the fiercest debate was over the pandemic of the Corona virus, climate change and national security issues.

Due to the chaotic first debate on September 29 a new rule was in force last night, which enabled the moderator of the debate, NBC journalist Kristen Welker, to turn off the tone of the participant who interrupted the interlocutor.

Trump, who interrupted Biden much more often in the first duel than his Democratic candidate, spoke in a reduced tone tonight for most of the debate.

The billionaire from New York who, contrary to expectations, won the 2016 presidential election, may have had his last opportunity to change the dynamics of the election race dominated by his administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic and its negative consequences for the US economy.

The United States is a convincing leader in the world in terms of both the number of confirmed cases of infection and the number of deaths. More than 228,000 people have died as a result of the infection in the United States, and the infection has been confirmed in more than 8.6 million, which is more than a fifth of the registered cases in the world.

For Biden, the 90-minute duel was an opportunity to solidify a clear advantage over Trump, which all polls give him 12 days before the election.
