The Russian vaccine arrives in the second half of the week
The Sputnik V vaccine, the first five thousand doses, will arrive in Montenegro in the second half of this week, member of the negotiating team for the procurement of the vaccine from Russia, Dr. Sergej Boljevic said.
As he pointed out speaking during the Jutarnji program, the vaccines were at the Sheremetyevo airport yesterday and are leaving for Montenegro. Some administrative activities remain to be completed.
"The vaccine has been shipped to Montenegro, yesterday it was at the Sheremetyevo airport and it will be in Montenegro by the end of the week. There is some paperwork that must be done and the first time it always lasts a little longer. The first batch of five thousand jabs arrives, and more will follow, as the contract for 50,000 jabs was signed. We expect that it will be delivered in the first quarter of this year ", Boljevic said.
He pointed out second dose should arrive within 21 days, so as not to jeopardize the vaccination process, and that it will certainly be the case.
"After the first dose, Montenegro can start mass vaccination. The Russian Federation will provide enough vaccines for everyone in Montenegro, and I expect that it will soon be in second place after Serbia, which started mass vaccination. I still don't know the quantities in later deliveries, but the schedule will be determined and I will inform the public in a timely manner," Boljevic said.
