KRIVOKAPIC

Crime departments in ministries

Most ministries in the Government of Montenegro will have a special department for the fight against organized crime and corruption, announced Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic, stating that the government is doing everything to find the best way to fight these issues.

In an interview with the MINA agency, Krivokapic said that Montenegro is a small country, where everyone knows everyone, and that in such a situation, the best model should be found for the fight against organized crime and corruption.

"I hope that the expertise will help us find the best model for that fight, the closest solution for us is Uskok in Croatia. Most of the ministries will have a special department for the fight against organized crime and corruption," Krivokapic said.

He believes that, if Montenegro is to be an organized state, the fight against organized crime and corruption must be announced, which is not at all simple.

Krivokapic explained that the Government, by forming special departments in the ministries, wants to obtain important documents that will later be sent to the National Council for the Fight against Corruption.

He said that the state with acting judiciary officials is the worst situation, because it is uncertain and it does not exist in any country in the world.

Krivokapic stated that the Constitution cemented the manner of change in both the judiciary and the prosecutor's office, and so far it has not been possible to achieve a majority for change.

"That now suits the opposition the best, but the parties should not have an influence on the judiciary. I hope that the Constitutional Court will also initiate and show greater agility, " Krivokapic stated."

He said that he had signed a request to the Constitutional Court searching for information on the status for the review of the Energy Law, which was submitted by Vasilije Milickovic in 2009.
