MONTENEGRO AIRLINES (MA) PILOTS

The decision to shut down hasty, jointly to find a solution

Montenegro Airlines pilots Nikola Pavlicevic and Dejan Popovic hope that a way will be found in the coming days to save and heal the company. They also say that investing in MA at the time of the pandemic is not state aid but the rescue of the national airline.

A meeting of representatives of MA employees with Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic is scheduled for today and the pilots hope that a solution will be found for the company's survival.

"No one wants to find 350 people, whose education has been invested in for 25 years, unemployed on the streets overnight, especially in light of the fact that the labor market in Montenegro does not offer such people an alternative," Popovic said, adding that he hoped that a way will be found to heal the company.

"There are a lot of problems in all fields and I fully understand the new government as they found themselves in an unenviable situation, but I sincerely hope that they can refer to the situation with the coronavirus and the crisis that justifies investing in MA, because it is not a state aid but the rescue of the company," said pilot Popovic in the morning program of TVCG.

He stated that, like all other employees, he heard information from the media about the closure of the MA, which, as he pointed out, was not final.
