JOKSIMOVIC
The incidence of corona disease is 15% lower
Epidemiologist of the Institute of Public Health Milko Joksimovic said that in the last 14 days the incidence of coronavirus was lower by 15% compared to the previous period. He pointed out that an improvement can be noticed when it comes to the number of infected, but that the situation is still serious. Joksimovic said that vaccination can be expected most likely in February.
The current measures, as he said as a guest in the TVCG morning program, are not much different from the measures that were in force before them.
"It is a set of measures where there are restrictive measures and concessions. What I can say is that a slight improvement can be noticed in the last week, although the situation is still very complex. When you compare the number of patients from day to day, for example in the last two weeks, when we compare the last 14 days and 14 days before that an improvement can still be noticed. That rate is about 15 percent lower than in the last week or in the first half of December," said Joksimovic.
The situation, as he said, is still very serious, but we have some indicators that show that there has been stabilization and a slight improvement.
"However, we cannot be satisfied because the number of patients on a daily basis, as well as the number of deaths, is very high," he said.
He pointed out that in the IJZ (Institute for Public Health) they were not in favor of a complete lockdown, but they were in favor of a certain set of more restrictive measures.
