BEGIC EXPECT

The number of infected to drop in 10 to 14 days

The new restrictive measures, which are being applied in several municipalities as of today, can give results in 10 to 14 days, says the assistant director of the IPH, Dr Senad Begic.

"In order for any measure to give results, the incubation period must pass, so it is to be expected that in the next 10 to 14 days we have a visible effect of the measures we have proposed, which again depends on the implementation of measures in the field. I hope that those in charge will tighten controls, and that the citizens will understand the seriousness of the situation. If the events from previous week or the one before it repeat, I am afraid that the health care system will not be able to withstand ", said Begic, as a guest in the morning program of TVCG.

He reminds that as of today, new restrictive measures will come into force in several municipalities, depending on the epidemiological situation.

Begic points out that municipalities are divided into four categories depending on the number of patients in the previous 14 days.

"Every municipality that moves from one group to another will face stricter measures," Begic said.

He also states that the tables will be published every Saturday morning, while the measures will take effect on Monday at midnight and will be applied for 14 days.

"In this cycle, the strictest measures have been introduced in the municipalities of Andrijevica, Niksic, Berane, where the epidemiological situation is the worst and where the rate, especially in Niksic, is five times higher than at the state level," Begic said.
