BAKOVIC

We will be efficient in the case of the Maltese journalist

Assistant Director of the Police Administration Enis Bakovic said that the Montenegrin police will act promptly and efficiently if they receive a request from Maltese colleagues, through Interpol and Europol, regarding the case of the murder of Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

"I responsibly claim that the Maltese police, through Interpol and Europol, did not ask for checks on companies mentioned in the media as being connected to the 'Mozura' wind farm, nor to investigate possible connections with Montenegrin state officials," Bakovic said in an announcement on a Twitter account of the Police Administration.

Bakovic emphasized the strong partnership and trust that the Montenegrin police enjoy with international partners.

"I express the readiness and openness of the Police Administration for cooperation in current and all other cases," states Bakovic.

The director of the Police Directorate Veselin Veljovic said yesterday that the Police Directorate did not receive direct requests from the Maltese police regarding the murder of the Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
