Asanin: Five Covid-19 patients in life-threatening condition

The director of the General Hospital in Niksic Ilija Asanin said that 43 patients were being treated by Covid-19 in that health institution, while five of them were in a life-threatening condition, including one on a respirator.

Asanin announced that 33 patients were placed in the Infectious Diseases Department.

"30 of them are Covid-19 positive, three are under observation and we are waiting for the test results. We have ten patients in the Department of Psychiatry. It is good that out of those ten patients who were Covid positive and treated for severe pneumonia, five will be returned today to the Special Hospital for Psychiatry in Kotor, because their tests are negative," Asanin said.

It is bad, as he said, that they have one patient who is on a respirator and is in a very serious condition with his life in danger.

"Of the other patients we have four who are in a life-threatening condition, but they are not on a respirator and we hope that we will not get to a situation where they will be on a respirator," Asanin pointed out.

The medical staff, he said, showed a high degree of professionalism.

"These days we are also making a shift, so to speak, of the staff at Covid Hospital. Another group of doctors and nurses is entering work, so they will be in the Covid zone for the next month and dedicate themselves to fighting for the lives of patients who are being treated," said Asanin.
