DAVIDOVIC
None of the investments in tourism has been stopped
No major investment in tourism in Montenegro has been stopped, despite the coronavirus pandemic that the whole world is fighting against, said the State Secretary in the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Damir Davidovic.
Speaking in the parliament, he said that the year and the situation we are facing, when it comes to tourism, is not something that was expected for the tourism industry.
He reminded that at one point, all supply, demand and international travel stopped.
"Everything that has been done, building the brand that Montenegro had, the fact that we are home to some of the largest tourist investments in the Mediterranean speaks in favor of none of these large investments being stopped, but continuing to be realized at a certain pace," he said.
When it comes to tourists who visited Montenegro, it is a confirmation, Davidovic says, of the correctness of the tourism policy pursued by our country.
"If we compare the past and year 2016, we have three times more tourists from Germany, twice as many from Austria, Germany, Great Britain, seven times from China ...", Davidovic said.
In the previous three years alone, he said, investments amounted to about a billion euros.
"Not only has it been invested in accommodation capacities, but also in improving the offer. Montenegro is home to many internationally recognized brands," he said.
