BRAJOVIC’S CONGRATULATIONS
May 21 to be a day of remembrance for independence fighters
In his congratulations on the occasion of the Independence Day of Montenegro, the President of the Parliament Ivan Brajovic said that the government will continue to build a state of developed institutions, democracy, solidarity and social responsibility. As health is preserved, so will the economy, secular and civic character of Montenegro.
"The history of Montenegro is a set of testimonies about preserving the awareness of one's own identity and the right to independence. The citizens of Montenegro, by the decision of the referendum in 2006, fulfilled the debt to their ancestors, expressed the will of the majority of modern Montenegro and paved the way for their descendants," it is stated in the congratulatory message.
That is why, says Brajovic, May 21 is the most important date in recent history for Montenegro.
"This act of freedom has confirmed the desire and will of the people for an independent and democratic Montenegro, a full member of the international community," he said.
"Celebrating the 14th anniversary of the restoration of state independence, we owe gratitude to all those who helped in this historic process, in building and strengthening institutions, as well as on the country's path to NATO membership and future in the European Union. May the May 21 be a day of remembrance of all the fighters for the independence of Montenegro, making their families and all of us proud of it," he adds in the congratulatory message.
We will continue, as he said, to build a state of developed institutions, democracy, solidarity and social responsibility.
"We have preserved public health in an impressive way, we will preserve the economy with the development of the economic potentials of our country." We will preserve the secular and civic character of Montenegro, as its special value", said the President of the Assembly.
