HRAPOVIC SAID

Hospitals are ready, masks available soon

The Montenegrin health care system is ready for the possible emergence of coronavirus, and there is plenty of room in the KCCG and hospitals for the infected, Health Minister Kenan Hrapovic said after a session of the National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases.

He also said that there was no room for panic because of the coronavirus, but citizens should be extra careful, he added. The health system officials informed that there were no protective masks in pharmacies, but that they will be available soon. It was also reported that no Chinese workers were expected to arrive in Montenegro.

The barracks in Zoganj in Ulcinj are supposed to be quarantine for the coronavirus, but it   will not be the only location, Hrapovic adds.

"In the coming days, we will determine more locations for the accommodation of healthy persons," Hrapovic said at the press conference.

He also explained that no arrival of workers from China had been announced. The CRBS needs to submit a plan for the arrival of Chinese workers in Montenegro, and, as Hrapovic adds, every arrival of workers must be announced.

"Before coming to Montenegro, workers must be quarantined for 14 days in China; upon arrival in Montenegro, they will be subject to additional supervision for another 14 days," Hrapovic said. This, he added, is the only procedure that allows arrival of workers from China.
