The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor has ordered the 72 hours detention of those suspected of firing the national flag of Montenegro in Budva.

Earlier today, police arrested three people suspected of setting fire to Montenegro's flag at Slovenska Plaza beach.

"The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor has ordered the detention of three persons (R.I, S.N. and S.M) due to suspicion that on February 16 in Budva they set on fire the national flag of Montenegro. The suspects are charged with dishonoring the reputation of Montenegro, " the Basic State Prosecutor's Office from Kotor announced.
The head of the General Crime Unit at the Budva Security Center (CB), Vesko Nedovic, said that half an hour after midnight on February 16, Budva's CB was informed that the Montenegrin flag had been set on fire at the Slovenska obala promenade, near Cape Zavala.
"Immediately after receiving the notification, officers from the Budva Security Center came to the scene and found that the flag had been removed from the mast and set on fire," Nedovic said.
He said that immediately after the investigation, officers of the Budva Security Center undertook a series of operationally tactical measures and actions to identify and locate involved persons.
