As we restored the state, we will also restore the church

The Greater Serbia nationalism had to get quiet a bit after 2006, but it never reconciled with Montenegrin independence, still dreaming of recompiling the Balkans, making Serbia, Albania, Croatia larger and others disappearing, DPS leader Milo Djukanovic said last night at the session of the DPS Municipal Board of Tivat.

"This is more or less the same plan that has always existed, in the 1990s also, and that has cost our region a large number of lives. Therefore, neither a Greater Serbia nor Greater Albania can exist, but there could only be a great tragedy. And instead of having learned these lessons well in the 1990s, instead of giving it up and burry it deep, as we can see, some 30 years later, old ideas are being brought back to the table, and integral part of those ideas is Greater Serbian nationalism, which, by using the SPC, still tries to represent Montenegro, to influence its life as a life of another Serb state.", Djukanovic said.

He added that it was "something we disagree with and towards which we show, I would say, very steadfast and firm resistance."

"This is something we will never allow to pass in Montenegro," Djukanovic made clear.

Djukanovic also commented on the Law on Freedom of Religion, pointing out that it is a legal solution that has been thoroughly, long and well prepared for more than four years, with public hearings.
