IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME

TV Vijesti framed RTCG

Television Vijesti roughly framed the Montenegrin public on Friday by sharing an information that a portal of the Montenegrin National Public Broadcasting Service was the source of, as they say, "inaccurate and unverified" news on the death of historian Alexander Stamatovic.

Namely, in the news program "News at half past five ", "colleagues" from Television Vijesti , like most Montenegrin media, publish information on the death of Mr. Stamatovic, which, fortunately, turned out to be incorrect.

Note, in that program, TV News did not cite the source of the information, not mentioning RTCG portal - not with a picture or a word, what we confirm with the recording we publish.

However, in the next news program "News at half past 7", they published an apology, suggesting that the news had been taken from the RTCG portal. Subsequent reference to our portal as a source is the case of framing with the aim to discredit the Public Service.

By professional standards, TV Vijesti was obliged to state the source of information. As it did not do so, in current socio-political circumstances and a polarized media scene, we take that as another strike to Public Service.

So we ask, why the TV Vijesti chose RTCG and not some other media that published the information before us?!

RTCG Portal clearly marked the source of information, as the TV Vijesti were also obliged to do considering the fact that they like to give others lections on professionalism.
