MUGOSA TRIAL

The witnesses confirmed earlier testimonies

At the main trial of the former mayor of Podgorica, Miomir Mugosa, charged with the abuse of office in the “Carine” case, witnesses have been questioned today, and the next hearing is scheduled for April 25.

Veselin Jankovic, Svetozar Jovanovic and Dragan Krusic were questioned in the Podgorica High Court today. They all reiterated previous statements they made before the special prosecutor in 2017.
The prosecutor, the defense lawyers and the judge did not have additional questions for the witnesses. Judge Vesna Pean called Nada Mugosa, Dragica Vidic, Dusko Vojinovic and Marko Radunovic to testify at the next hearing.
The Appellate Court previously upheld the decision of the High Court which suspended the proceedings against Mugosa's associates Nada Stanisic and Dragan Krusic, while the indictment against Mugosa's associate Dragan Djukic was returned for re-decision.
Mugosa has refused to negotiate a plea agreement in the “Carine” case.
The indictment was later extended to his former associates Djukic, Krusic and Dragica Vidic. They were offered to sign agreements accusing the former Podgorica mayor, but they refused.
