NEW TOBACCO PLANT OPENED

"MNE is going to be even bigger construction site”

Deputy PM Vladimir Milutin Simovic opened the New Tobacco Plant in Podgorica today. He announced that the planned export of € 25 million a year will contribute to balancing our foreign trade deficit and that Montenegro is going to be even bigger construction site.

Simovic announced that besides creating jobs for more than hundred people, new plant would significantly expand the network of subcontractors, while the Government will continue to work on ensuring the growth of the economy and the standard of living of citizens, as well as on job creation.
"The special value to this project gave the announcement made by the investor that they intend to strengthen and spread the cooperative network of primary tobacco production in the areas of Zeta, Tuzi, Ulcinj, Bar and Bjelopavlici. As you can see, the primary processing section is already under construction. Therefore, the plant, besides new jobs, more than 100 of them, will also have largest open-air section, where numerous tobacco producers with long tradition, that for generations have made their living by supplying the tobacco industry, can work. In order to develop primary production of the tobacco, the Government and the Ministry will continue to strengthen the support of producers, "Simovic said.

He said that the government is determined to provide further dynamic growth of the Montenegrin economy, create new jobs and increase living standards and quality of life for all citizens.
