AGENCY CALLS

State Election Commission to change data control procedure

A member of the Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information, Radenko Lacmanovic, called on the State Election Commission (DIC) to change the way of controlling the credibility of citizens’ data, used for support presidential candidates.

He said that the Agency would make a recommendation to the Commission to change the control procedure by Friday.

"If the information that the DIK has allowed NGO sector to inspect the signatures is correct, they violated the Personal Data Protection Act, which means violation of Articles 43 and 45 of the Montenegrin Constitution," said the member of the Council of the Agency for the Personal Data Protection, Radenko Lacmanovic.

As of yesterday afternoon, citizens can check if their personal information was abused to support one of the presidential candidates through the web application potpisi.dik.co.me, by entering their personal ID number.
