THE INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH ANNOUNCED

Two more cases of measles in Montenegro

The Institute for Public Health confirmed yesterday two more measles cases in Montenegro.

They explain that the patients are boys born in 2016 and 2017, who were not vaccinated against measles.

"For one of them there is an epidemiologically evident exposure to a virus while being abroad, while for the other it was an import-related disease. Both patients are currently in good general health, and local epidemiological services are in charge of contact control,” the Institute reports

They remind that since the beginning of the year, eight cases of measles infection had been registered, of which seven in unvaccinated patients, while one adult infected person did not have valid vaccination evidence.

"Two patients who had previously been diagnosed with measles virus infection are hospitalized - both at the Institute for Child Diseases and both are currently in good general condition," the IJZ announced.
