LEKIC SAYS

Invitation to OSCE proves that country is in a crisis

The latest public invitation to the OSCE is a confession of the authorities that the country is in crisis, Demos President Miodrag Lekic said. In the interview for daily "Dan", he said he would not underestimate such a move even though it was an expression of certain confusion or forced tactics due to the complicated situation in the top of the authorities.

"I do not believe that the OSCE can be involved in the solution of the crisis without inviting the other political half of the country. In other words, if the government or its segments hesitate or can not directly call the opposition to jointly find a solution to the deep crisis , therefore they call on the opposition through the OSCE, that is an option as well, though somewhat more complicated, "Lekic said.

He added that, of course, the opposition has its own responsibility in the resulting crisis.

"For the interests of the country, one must be of principle and flexible at the same time. On the one hand, the boycott policy and the three well-known requirements for overcoming the crisis should still be active, and on the other hand we must be ready for a dialogue that would result in compromise.’’ Lekic concluded.
