VUCIC FROM PARIS

There was no violence, and therefore no police

The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that there were no police at the protest in Belgrade last night because there was no violence or attempts to break into state institutions.

It has been like that in the past eight years and it will be, he said, in the future as well.

"You did not enter the Assembly, you did not throw Molotov cocktails, torches, fences and everything else, and you did not even see a police officer," Vucic told reporters in Paris.

Protests are a democratic instrument, but power, he pointed out, could not be taken by violence.

He said that no one will touch the protesters, that they can demonstrate for "a hundred days and a hundred years", although he believes that it is irresponsible because of the infection that will spread in this way.

Vucic also said that the protests never bothered him, that they don't bother him even now, only if no one enters the institutions and beats the police.
