Another eight cases confirmed in Serbia, with a total of 65 patients

Eight more people are infected with the coronavirus in Serbia and the total number of confirmed cases in the country is 65, Serbian Ministry of Health website reported.

"There are three people in the home isolation with a lighter clinical picture, while five people are held in hospital, without complications, with a stable general condition," the website states.

A total of 335 people were tested for the corona virus in the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute.

A state of emergency was declared in Serbia on Sunday to establish control of the spread of the infection.

Serbian President AleksandarVucic has announced special measures to accompany the introduction of a state of emergency, including the closure of schools, kindergartens and colleges and the restriction of movement of persons over 65 years of age.

All counters of public administration and local self-government will be closed and health facilities will only admit emergency cases.

Health centers will also operate under a special regime, with all prescriptions being extended.

The Ministry of Health has opened hotlines for psychological assistance to citizens. The phone numbers are published on covid19.rs website.

"In order to reduce anxiety and depression rates in conditions of social isolation, as well as destigmatization in relation to the COVID-19 virus, National hotlinesare opened for providing psychosocial support to all citizens in need," the website states.
