IVANIC WITH VUCIC

To solve key issues of Serbs

BiH Presidency Member Mladen Ivanic assessed in Belgrade that this and next year, the key issues Serbian people have been facing for decades are to be resolved.

After talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Ivanic also pointed out that the international community should show its openness towards Serbia.

Ivanic told reporters that he had a meeting with the President of Serbia, focusing primarily on defining the key problems and challenges of the Serbian people.

"This and next year we will have to solve the key problems that the Serbian people faces for decades," Ivanic said, adding that this is the position of the Serbian people in BiH in general, the RS’s right on its existence, the firm strengthening of its institutions and the Dayton positions, while special challenge for Serbia is defining the status of Kosovo, and the position of the Serbian people there.

He said that Vucic informed him of an attempt to make a compromise and a permanent solution for Kosovo.

"My honest opinion is that the international community must make an effort and show its openness to Serbia in attempts to find a lasting solution. Serbia must come out of it as a country whose face and interests are preserved, and international institutions can play a key role in it," Ivanic explained.
