Rama welcomed the European Council decision

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama welcomed the decision of the Council of European Union(EU) on the conditional opening of accession negotiations with Albania andMacedonia in June next year.

"After 72 hours of sailing through the internal EU waves, Albania succeededto get the date for entry into the port of united Europe,"wrote Rama on his Facebook account.

He said the reforms had led the skeptics to acknowledge the meritsof Albania and Macedonia.

"A very difficult battle was won, the war is continuing," addedRama, reported Tanjug.

The EU Council, after lengthy discussions, agreed on progressof Macedonia and Albania on the Euro-integration road, and in their conclusionsstated that Skopje and Tirana should open accession negotiations inJune 2019, if they fulfill certain conditions.
